While audience feedback for Peacemaker the latest season has been largely favorable, with viewers and reviewers applauding the acting and plot—even if the major revelation in episode 7 didn't come as a shock—one critique has intensified as the season continues: dwindling runtime lengths.

Over the past few episodes, viewers have voiced frustration over the significantly reduced runtimes in season 2, and indeed, the installments have been getting shorter and shorter. Episode 7, called “Like a Keith in the Night,” ran just 28 minutes (not counting the summary, title sequence, and closing credits), making it the shortest episode so far.

You'll be happy to learn the upcoming finale is over 57 minutes long.

Peacemaker showrunner and DC Universe head James Gunn posted on Threads, replying to a disappointed fan.

Despite this news, it's unknown exactly how much of the 57 minutes will be actual new footage, uncluttered by intro and outro segments, or recaps of previous events. That said, even if the episode includes all the aforementioned filler, that would still allow for roughly three-quarters of an hour for the concluding episode, which is a big upgrade following the previous installment.

Gunn previously hinted that the last episode would not only conclude Peacemaker but also provide clues towards the direction the broader DC Universe as a whole will be heading and serve as a prequel of sorts for the upcoming Man of Tomorrow film. Considering the cameo of Nicholas Hoult's Lex Luthor from episode 6, fans expect a exciting guest appearance to cap off the show.

Peacemaker's season conclusion, the eighth episode, is called "The Full Nelson," and we'll just have to wait to find out if fans' suspicions are proven correct.
